It is said that some leaders are created and some are born. Joseph M. Grier has been an example of both. Born in Baltimore , Maryland , Joe Grier grew up in Harrisburg , Pennsylvania where he became a proud graduate of the 1984 class of Harrisburg High School , (John Harris Campus). The proud son of Mr. Joseph E. Grier and Mrs. Nancye T. Grier, he went on to receive his Public Relations Degree at one of the traditional Pennsylvania State Universities. Upon Graduation in the spring of 1989, Joe accepted a Marketing/Sales position for the Canadian based fortune 500 company, Moore Business Forms and Systems, Incorporated. After some professional achievements with the company, Joe received an offer to break into advertising sales with WDAS Radio in Philadelphia . During his year as a WDAS account executive, he decided that his talents were better spent living out his childhood dream of JMG PROMOTIONS, his own company.

His endeavor as an entertainment publicist / agent / manager, has helped him to touch business ideals with artists like Boys II Men, the late - great Grover Washington, Jr., comedian Louis Dix, Actress Karen Malina White, The Scott White Family Evangelistic Crusade, and Bill Cosby. Joe has been the Director of Sales and Promotions for Tobeat Records, an independent record label, where he supervised the promotions and sales efforts of the company.

In addition to his many accolades, Mr. Grier has been the Director of Sales for Freedom Theatre. He created new and innovative ways for theatre's to do business in the fields of Sales, Promotions and Customer Service . He received certificates of merit from The Lila Wallace Readers Digest Foundation, The Ford Foundation and the Philadelphia Hospitality Alliance. Upon resigning, Mr. Grier was pushing his sales team to generate more than $1 million dollars in revenue, a task unheard of for theatres that size in the 20 th and 21 st century.
 As the President and CEO of JMG PROMOTIONS, Joe also has time to record commercials through various talent agencies for radio, television and film. His accolades include the international CD-ROM project for the Academy award nominated movie AMISTAD, NFL Films, Masterfoods USA , Center for Disease Control, K-Mart Corporation in Atlanta , Industrial Bank in Washington , DC and more. His articles have been published in local, national and international mediums and he is currently creating a campaign to re-establish fair and just custodial and child support rights for men and second wives.

His extra curricular activities include being, the 1995 to 1997 Director of Public Relations for the Urban League Young Professionals, an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, the Chairman for the Entertainment Committee for the 1998/28th Annual Black Conference on Higher Education, where he served as the 1992 Chairman of PBCOHE's Student Workshops and their Second Vice President from 1986 to 1988, as well as a motivational speaker for elementary, highschool and college students - stressing the position of "self determination". He has also been the Chairman of the Philadelphia Branch Board of the American Red Cross 1998-2000. He served as Chairman of the Public Relations Committee for the Philadelphia Branch Board of the American Red Cross from (2000-2002). On November 28, 2006 he completed his third and final term as President/CEO for The Greater 69th Street Wildcats Athletic Association, Inc. He has held the offices of Secretary and Chairman/Founder of the Recruitment and Public Relations Committees for the Bert Bell Memorial Football Conference. To his credit, he ventured out into new waters by signing football player and Wide-Receiver sensation Jamie Ware to the Arena Football League's Albany ConQuest in 1999. He spent three years as a member of the coaching staff for the Roman Catholic High school Football Team in Philadelphia , PA.

Grier was recently named the 2005 National Youth League Coach of the Year by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Committee. He is currently a national facilitator for the Frank Glazier Mega Football Clinics. If someone were to sum up the life of Mr. Joseph M. Grier, they would say that he is serious about the business of progress - first for his people and second for his nation.
